A study conducted at the University of Technology, Jamaica revealed that approximately 51% of their students are suffering from severe food insecurity, 31.2% suffering from moderate food insecurity and on the flip side a mere 17.9% experiencing food security. These horrific findings mean that 82.2% of our approximately 10,000 students are unable to afford or gain access to nutritious meals consistently and in a timely manner. With is, the University of Technology Students Union launched an End Campus Hunger campaign geared toward providing access to nutritious meals in a timely manner.
