Jacqueline Woodson, a former McArthur Fellow and National (U.S.A) Ambassador for Young People’s Literature is in Jamaica as part of a series of events organized by the Book Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ) and the GrassROOTS Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization with headquarters in the United States. With the help of Woodson, the Book Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ) and the GrassROOTS Community Foundation will launch their Education Week and Read Across Jamaica Day campaign. Since 2018, both entities have worked together to provide children and teenagers with more varied books. She joined us on Sunrise to share more about the project.
