Tivoli Gardens an inner-city community in Kingston, is undergoing a profound metamorphosis, and it is all thanks to the power of art. The Tivoli Murals Projects, is a movement driven by the motto “healing thoughts through arts,” using artistic expression as a form of therapy within a community that has endured its fair share of trauma. Last summer marked the beginning of this remarkable endeavor, as artists painted an impressive 5,000 sqft of Tivoli Gardens, infusing color and life into the neighborhood. Now, in a momentous expansion, the team plans to paint an additional 30,000 sqft of wall space this summer. To bring this vision to fruition, the project is currently seeking donations through a fundraising campaign. Until July 15, the public is invited to Bumps Park to join in the fundraising efforts and be a part of this transformative initiative. Lead Artist, Adirah Chardae stopped by to tell us about the project.
