William Shakespeare’s Macbeth

Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ is a tragedy about an ambitious usurper desperately trying to better his circumstance upon receiving a prophecy from three witches. Emboldened by his wife, he does so through violence, setting anarchy in motion and throwing the state into disarray. The creators of the enactment asked themselves how would these characters and themes speak to our Caribbean context today and they arrived at our inner cities, politics and gang violence. The Directors of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Camille Quamina and Marvin George joined us on Sunrise to discuss the show and what you can expect.
