Constable Christan Anderson-Bailey has had a passion for literature and arts from a young age. She has published several books for children such as “My First Interactive Coloring Book,” and “Let Us Solve It” among others. Since becoming a police officer Constable Bailey realized that her writing and creative abilities can aid in the enhancement of community policing initiatives, to further strengthen the partnership between the police and the communities. From her perspective, children are the most vulnerable in our society, so it is very important that they are able to differentiate between the members of society that will harm them and the members that have sworn to protect them. For Read Across Jamaica Day Constable Bailey read her book “Peace & Safety,” a student of the St. Jago Cathedral Prep, Nathan Brown. Watch the full reading below.
