Ackeef Nugent has been making big waves in his community through education, sports and entertainment. Nugent hails from the community of Coburn Gardens in Kingston. His vision for his community is to reduce crime and violence through social intervention. A true ambassador for Jamaica’s greatest qualities, Nugent has taken on the responsibilities of a community leader, advocate, and counsellor with tenacity and dedication. The 13-year-old Excelsior High School student prioritizes his time, and effort and even saves some of his lunch money to purchase items to keep the ‘Nugent Academy programme’ going. He stopped by Sunrise to share his incredible story.
