They argue that there needs to be a new music genre to distinguish Reggae from new styles of music like dancehall – especially awards show categories like the Grammys.
We meet the band’s founding members which include Kingston-born vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Billy “Mystic” Wilmot; former Jalan and Earth Disciples drummer and record producer Nicholas “Rimshot” “Cymbal” Henry; bass guitarist Leroy “Lion” Edwards and guitarist.
The Mystic Revealers are a reggae band formed in the late 1970s in the seaside town of Bull Bay east of Kingston, Jamaica. They draw upon Jamaica’s rich, established reggae tradition of outspoken political awareness when writing and performing their original material.
