Garfield ‘Ricky Trooper’ Mckoy is Jamaica’s Veteran Sound System Selector. Often mistaken on the microphone for Papa San, Jamaica’s Reggae/Dancehall/Gospel Singer, Trooper got his break on Creation Sound.
His determination then connected him with the owner of Killamanjaro Sound System, Noel “Papa Jaro” Harper after learning of Mr. Harper’s need for sound selectors.
Trooper believes that his connection with the industry has been a gift given by a greater power as he says that god is responsible for his strong bond to the music. This ‘knack’ for determining the success of musical artistes led to his discovery of the now great roots reggae artiste, Luciano and many more.
