Today we are giving new life to old furniture with some quick revamp tips. Scratched up with missing pieces, are usual indicators for trash, but we believe that things deserve a second chance especially if they have sentimental value.
So first we are stripping old painted finishes using a stripper and scraper to lift old paint allowing you to have a blank canvas to work with. Now you can embrace your unique style by choosing your favourite paint color, and turning boring furniture into your favourite pieces.
Another option for revamping your chairs, dresser or tables is staining. Start by stripping the wood, using sandpaper to sand your piece lightly. After cleaning the dust away, apply a few coats of wood conditioner and then rub on your wood stain using a soft cloth to achieve a fresh woody appearance.
Next up, we are tackling those worn chairs. Re-covering or re-wrapping a seat cushion is a simple project. Remove old fabric from your chair by unscrewing the seat cushion and covering your seat with your modern fabric. If the sponging or foam is badly stained, it makes sense to replace those as well before screwing back the seating.
And finally, we are updating our hardware. When it comes to decorating, beauty is in the details; as is the case with knobs, hinges, handles, and pulls. Think of them as jewelry, but for your furniture. Just replacing the hardware of your furniture or doors can transform your room and home in minutes.
These simple tips can help transform your furniture in a cost-effective way. Taking what you were starting to see as trash, as rediscovered treasures.
