Minister of Education, Youth & Information, The Hon. Fayval Williams and the President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), Mr. Keith Duncan will participate in an official handover of the donations for the “One Laptop or Tablet Per Child Initiative”
The initiative is designed to promote inclusivity in the education sector and aims to provide needy students with the requisite tools such as laptops and tablets, to seamlessly integrate and function in the online teaching and learning environment.
This aids in ensuring equity in access to Information Communication Technology (ICT) based learning.
Partners in this initiative include the Private Sector Organisation (PSOJ), the NCB Foundation, Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE), Junior Achievement Jamaica, and the National Education Trust Limited (NET). The initiative has been executed under the umbrella “Connect A Child JA”.
Mr. Duncan and his wife, Mrs. Wendy Duncan, have also donated J$1 Million to the initiative for four primary schools.
