Fifty-nine-year-old Noel Thomas is trying to move on with his life but his future seems blurry. Thomas who was locked in 2016 has his test glasses broken by a man, allegedly of unsound mind with whom he shared a cell. He was being taken to the eye specialist by the department of correctional services to be given new glasses. He was released from prison later that year and Thomas says he has not received his glasses. Several attempts to get his eyewear from been unsuccessful. From writing to the Department of Co-operatives and Friendly Societies (DCFS), his Member of Parliament, the Ministry of Justice, and the Horizon Adult Remand Centre where he had all been futile. Now employed at a prominent high school, Thomas says he’s been given a second chance but is unable to fulfill his duties without his glasses.
