Managed Network Services for the Public Health System – Thursday, October 28 was the official Signing Ceremony for the 8.43 Million US Dollars Project set to enhance customer service and improve the US$50-million Health Systems Strengthening Programme.
“One hundred and fifty (150) Health centers are set to benefit from the ICT Infrastructure Project,” says Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said, in order to make a difference. He believes it is a timely initiative, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic; part of the project is to assist with assessing the trends in the environment, provide the best treatment and manage the chronic care model being instituted while adjusting all the medical concerns.
With the signing phase complete, Dr. Tufton challenges the partners to act in a timely manner, eliminating waiting periods that will decrease the project’s functions.
Health Systems Strengthening Programme, which should boost the island’s capacity to address the scourge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and the challenge of communicable illnesses, is considered an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Government of Jamaica (GOJ) Partnership.
