With the new school term just two weeks away, at least five hundred (500) students benefited from a back to school treat held in Buff Bay, Portland recently. The students received bags, books and gift vouchers, to partake in a treat ahead of the 2022 academic year. The students were provided with school items such as books and bags, as a reprieve for parents and their back to school spending.
People’s National Party Councilor Candidate for the Buff Bay Division, Desmond Lewis says this initiative is much needed as the area has been impacted since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. He notes it is imperative for every child to have the necessary tools to access their education. In addition to the school items, vouchers were also granted. On March 7 of this year, schools were given the green light to resume face-to-face learning after two years of classes online.
