The Government of Jamaica has signed $36 billion in road network contracts and announced an additional $5 billion for water infrastructure.
The Government has signed four contracts totaling $36 billion under the Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to the Road Network (SPARK) initiative. The agreements were finalized on Thursday with the main contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC).
Prime Minister Andrew Holness also revealed that an additional $5 billion will be allocated to water-related infrastructure. This includes $2 billion dedicated to the installation of new pipelines.
