A lack of commitment from parents. This, Opposition Spokesman on Education Senator Damion Crawford says has been contributing to the prevalence of violence in schools.
He adds, parents who are dependent on the government’s path program, can be persuaded to play a more active role in their child’s life if the government ties the path program to parent’s involvement.
Senator Crawford, says he understands the challenges, however, that is no excuse. Further reinforcing his point, Crawford mentions the use of technology to facilitate meetings. Another recommendation is the big sister big bother program to provide greater support to the youth.
Senator Crawford is encouraging citizens to volunteer in schools.
