ST. ELIZABETH POLICE LIST ESCAPEES: 4 REMAIN AT LARGE
The police have rekindled calls for cooperation as they reveal that four of the eight inmates who escaped during the June jailbreak at the Black River Police Station lock-up remain at large. Tragically, two of the escapees have since passed away, with the most recent casualty identified as Dean Simpson, who was shot during a confrontation with law enforcement over the weekend.
In the wake of a gun battle, authorities recovered a firearm along with several rounds of ammunition. Amidst these events, two of the escapees have been recaptured. Richard Brown, apprehended at a local bar in September, faces charges related to robbery with aggravation. Additionally, Kenneth Stewart, charged with murder, was found in the company of his child’s mother, who now faces charges of harboring a fugitive. Acting Superintendent of Police for St. Elizabeth, Coleridge Minto, emphasized the police’s dedicated efforts to arrest and prosecute the remaining fugitives to the fullest extent of the law. He issued an appeal to the escapees, urging them to surrender themselves to authorities.
