The Ministry of Health and Wellness has launched an investigation to discover how the foetus got into the sewer. There is fresh outrage, following the discovery of a deceased fetus in the sewer at the Kingston Public Hospital.
The dead foetus was discovered underneath the basement of the hospital by a man cleaning the sewer on Thursday.
With the dead baby saga, fresh on the mind of Jamaicans Regional Director at the South East Regional Health Authority, Errol Greene, was quick to remove any ambiguity around the discovery.
The Director notes with the investigations being carried out the ministry will assess how the foetus got into the sewer.
Greene says it is abnormal for babies to die at the Kingston Public Hospital he says the possibility of a mother dumping the child in the sewer is poor.
He notes the current theory is that the fetus was flushed from a toilet to the sewer.
