Can More STEM Schools Create Growth In Jamaica?

With Prime Minister Andrew Holness announcing the construction of six STEM schools in collaboration with China, is greater education in science, technology, engineering and math- STEM an answer to Jamaica’s slow growth rate? Should the STEM curriculum be introduced into all schools? Will the introduction of STEM create two separate education systems?

On this evening’s panel discussion we explore the potential benefits of STEM in the context of a 21st century education where a positive correlation exists between STEM education, and the economic prosperity and power of a nation in the globalized world.

Panelists Dr. Canute Thompson, Head of the Caribbean Centre for Educational Planning, Brittney Singh-Williams, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Spark education limited & Gordon Swaby, Founder Edufocal Ltd joined us.
