The Role Of The Trade Union During COVID-1

Unplanned and unforeseen loss of income has hit workers hard as businesses have been forced to close as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak – prompting some trade unions to agitate for a distress grant for unionized workers affected by the lay-off period.

To discuss the role of the Trade Union during the COVID-19 outbreak and whether or not they have had to adapt we are joined by Collin Virgo Assistant General Secretary of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union and Danny Roberts, Head of the Hugh Lawson Shearer Trade Union Education Institute at the UWI Open Campus.
