Dr. Clarke Encourages Awareness in Digital Age

Jamaica is looking towards the future of a cashless economy like other countries.

The National Commercial Bank, NCB has partnered with Lynk, Jamaica’s first digital wallet to provide an opportunity for individuals to make and receive payments using a smartphone.

Minister of Finance and Public Service Dr. Nigel Clarke says the government is looking to transition the country into a digital environment.

Dr. Clarke says this will provide more efficiency while conducting business and eliminate long wait time.

CEO of Lynk, Vernon James notes as the app evolves Jamaicans should see more developments. He says the Lynk app is fast and user-friendly.

The digital service is available at about 300 ABM machines island-wide. The digital service is expected to grow extensively with users being allowed to receive a 24-hour service.

The app was launched in December 2021.
