Yet another crash. This time along the Laughland main road in St Ann. Reports are that around 7:30 a.m a Toyota Wish motor vehicle collided with a fifteen-seater Hiace mini bus registered to the Guardsman Security Group.
Head of the St. Ann Police Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell says preliminary reports reveal the car driver lost control of the vehicle, and swerved in the path of the Hiace bus, causing the collision.
The driver of the wish died at the scene, while eleven people have been hospitalised with injuries. Superintendent Powell says the police are aware of an increase in traffic fatalities in the area since the start of the year.
Adding, they are concerned with that road in particular, since it has recorded numerous crashes in recent times. He notes, these accidents have been mainly the fault of driver error. He is urging motorists to obey the laws of the road.
Superintendent Powell is urging citizens to assist accident victims however they can, as he frowns on the frequent occurrences of people videoing tragedies for social media use.
