Flow Jamaica Launches the “Jump” Pilot Program

Local internet and telecommunications provider Flow, is hoping its recently launched “Jump” pilot program will narrow the digital gap while ensuring that the most vulnerable, are included in Jamaica’s digital inclusion drive.

Manager Stephen Price says Flow is committed to harnessing its resources and capabilities to bridge the digital divide in Jamaica.

He says the Jump pilot programme will target one thousand five hundred (1500) households over the next four to six months and will see beneficiaries receiving high-speed internet connectivity in their homes, a device, as well as digital literacy training.

The training comes at a heavily subsidized cost of 800 dollars.  Students in the household will also benefit from the Flow Study Platform.

Vice President and Manager of Flow Jamaica Stephen Price says the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the lack of internet connectivity in some communities and the need for Jamaica to get up to standard with technology.

Price believes with this initiative Jamaica is on the track to vision 2030.

He says as the world advances in the digital age, digital inclusion is paramount.

As the pilot program develops, he adds there will be an expansion in partnership.
