Jamaica’s Public Health System can expect to see some improvements in the near future as Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton collaborates with Health Minister of Manitoba, Canada, Audrey Gordon on issues affecting both countries post Covid-19.

Dr. Tufton says through dialogue and knowledge transfer the Jamaican-born Minister and her team will be able to guide the country, especially in the areas of training, using technology and handling mental health illnesses.

Dr. Tufton also pinpoints that another benefit he’s anticipating from the collaboration is how Jamaica can improve its management of human resources within the public health system.

Although Minister Gordon says Canada faces a similar challenge in that regard, she says they have mastered digital medicine, which she’s looking forward to sharing with Jamaica.

She says she is equally excited about learning from Jamaica, to help develop her ministry and by extension, her country. More details here:
