While people are more concerned about increased prices for the Christmas season, President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society Lenworth Fulton says there is sufficient supply of vegetables and sorrel for consumers.
He notes that the government assisted several farmers in response to the losses suffered during September due to tropical storm Ian, which aided in the recovery for the holiday period. However, many prices doubled or even tripled. Some vendors in the Coronation Market, in Downtown, Kingston say they are already feeling the effects of price increases on sales.
