While people are more concerned about increased prices for the Christmas season, President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society Lenworth Fulton says there is sufficient supply of vegetables and sorrel for consumers.
He notes that the government assisted several farmers in response to the losses suffered during September due to tropical storm Ian, which aided in the recovery for the holiday period. Hoping for better business during Christmas, one vendor explains that profit margins have decreased. Another woman shared her experience of the impact that consistent price increase and the scarcity of vegetables, has had.
