Despite diagnosis, Andrew Merchant perseveres

June 30, 2019

After losing his sight to a hereditary medical condition , Andrew Merchant is making real progress.

Karen Jackson knew that the day she had feared for the youngest of her four children, Andrew Merchant, had come.

At the age of ten, Andrew lost his sight in one eye, having been diagnosed with Congenital Glaucoma  when he was only six weeks old.

The only known case of Glaucoma in Mrs. Jackson’s Family can be traced to her Grandmother.  As a mother, she is prepared to add as much light as possible to his world.

As reserved as Andrew seems, he is determined to not let the problem get the better of him and he is  making the necessary adjustments.
