Jamaicans React to the Queen’s Death

Just a few months after Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her platinum jubilee, the world received news that the queen is dead.

Former Prime Minister of Jamaica, P.J Patterson is expressing his condolences to the royal family, as he laments fond memories of the Queen.  

Those comments were mirrored by other citizens who expressed a lack of emotions towards the queen’s passing, as they demand the royal family be removed as the country’s head of state. 

There was also criticism towards the Prime Minister’s declaration of the 12 days of mourning that restricts celebratory activities from taking place. More details here:
