On Thursday, July 15, 2021, JCF officer, Constable Jeffory Graham was placed before the St. Mary Parish Court, to answer a Murder charge. These charges were as a result of an investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Constable Graham was charged in relation to the fatal shooting of Everton Moore on September 12, 2019 in Port Maria, St. Mary. It was reported that officers were sent on an assignment, where a naked man allegedly of unsound mind (Everton Moore) was causing damage to property. It was reported that Mr. Moore was shot in an attempt to restrain him. The investigation concluded that there was excessive use of force by the police officer.
Constable Graham was granted bail in the sum of $300,000.00 with two sureties. The next mention date is August 5, 2021.
