In responding to the success of the states of public emergency declared across several parishes Executive Director of Jamaicans for Justice, Mickel Jackson says it is important for members of the security forces to build relations with community members.
She notes implementing school intervention programmes in high-risk communities is also critical to tackling crime in Jamaica.
Meanwhile, Jackson adds the Zones of Special Operations do not make provisions for social interventions for youths. The government recently declared states of public emergency across 7 parishes that will run for 14 days.
