Juliet Holness elected Speaker of the House

Juliet Holness was elected Speaker of the House and Heroy Clarke as Deputy Speaker.

Wife of Prime Minister Holness and Member of the House of Representatives, representing Saint Andrew East Rural, steps In as Speaker following Marisa Dalrymple Philibert’s Resignation – Following the sudden resignation of Marisa Dalrymple Philibert last week, Mrs. Holness has been appointed as her successor. The nomination of Mrs. Holness for the position of Speaker received support from the Parliamentary Opposition, with Leader of Opposition Business, Phillip Paulwell, seconding the nomination after it was put forth by Government Member Delroy Chuck.

Additionally, Heroy Clark, MP for St. James Central, has been elected as the Deputy Speaker, filling the role previously held by Mrs. Holness.
