Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is warning Justices of the Peace to refrain from witnessing or identifying persons they do not know. He adds that such unethical act will not be tolerated.
Minister Chuck made the pronouncement at a Commissioning Ceremony for Justices of the Peace in Portland, on Thursday.
He says if fraud is suspected, the Justice of the Peace may be liable to provide evidence or be implicated as an accomplice to the corruption or fraud. The Minister stresses that the Justice of the Peace should be persons with integrity.
The minister says there are drivers with two or more licenses in different names because they are friends with a Justice of the Peace. He however says the National Identification System will curtail this underhand practice. More details here:
