Following the complaint, ISSA ruled that Clement was ineligible and announced his disqualification. Grounds for Appeal
In a formal objection letter submitted on March 28, 2025, under the signature of KC&rsquo;s head coach, Leaford Grant, the school outlined multiple reasons why ISSA's ruling should be overturned. According to KC&rsquo;s legal team, led by attorney-at-law Ian Wilkinson, KC was denied due process, as it was not given a chance to respond before the ruling was made. Additionally, KC was not formally informed of the complainant&rsquo;s identity or provided with a copy of the complaint before ISSA&rsquo;s public announcement of Clement&rsquo;s disqualification. &nbsp;
The appeal further argues that: &nbsp;
- Clement did not violate any existing rule. &nbsp; - The rule in question, which pertains to Class One quotas, only took effect on September 1, 2024, and explicitly applies to athletes enrolling for the *new* academic year beginning in September 2024. Clement, however, enrolled at KC in 2023, meaning the rule should not apply to him retroactively. &nbsp; - KC had sought guidance from ISSA as early as January 27, 2025, regarding Clement&rsquo;s eligibility, with no objections raised at that time. &nbsp; - Retroactive application of the rule would be unconstitutional and legally invalid. &nbsp;

The school insists that neither Clement nor KC committed any violation and describes ISSA&rsquo;s ruling as &ldquo;arbitrary&rdquo; and &ldquo;flagrantly perverse.&rdquo; &nbsp;
