Crimefighters in Trelawny and the Area Two Fugitive Apprehension Unit, are celebrating another win for law enforcement. An alleged gangster is dead and 13 guns including 10 assault rifles have been seized in Trelawny following a massive operation by the police spanning several parishes.
Police say the probe is transnational and at least one other person is now in custody. Guns, gangs, and gunmen are the main targets of the police in reducing crime, and already they’re being lauded for their efforts which are yielding fruits.
The operations that culminated in Florence Hall Village in Trelawny got underway at about 11:30 Thursday morning. The Commissioner notes criminals have migrated not just from one parish to the next but also improved their living conditions.
DSP Dahlia Garrick from the Corporate Communications Unit, says aspects of the investigation are transnational. She also identified the deceased who is said to be a violence producer in the parish.
