16-Year-Old Killed In His Community, Residents Tight-lipped

A St James family is mourning the loss of their youngest, a 16-year-old student of Muschett High School in Trelawny. The teen was gunned down while at a shop In Erwin Heights, St James on Saturday, January 22 at about 6:45 pm

Gunmen opened fire hitting 16-year-Old Chris-Jay Thompson, otherwise called CJ in the head. The police were summoned, upon their arrival, CJ was found with gunshot wounds to the head bathing in his own blood.

While others are now silent on the deadly attack, his father spoke up for his late son. He said the gunman took his heart, because his son was never a troublemaker, in spite of his serious demeanor.

Fear is real for the residents some of whom refused to speak on camera. His father says it’s hard to imagine it was a hit as CJ was a well-behaved student who helped him at his trade.

The killing has jolted loved ones. Another teen lost to violence.
