Seventeen adults and seven children were taken into police custody in St. Ann on Sunday afternoon, for breaching the COVID-19 restrictions.
Recent amendments to the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA), make it no longer mandatory for the police to give warning notices before effecting an arrest for breaches.
Those found in breach of the measures can now be arrested and charged immediately.
