There has been some progress in the investigation of the Gregory Park arson incident that left numerous individuals homeless on Saturday. In an operation conducted this afternoon, 18 individuals were apprehended by the police. The police are exploring potential political motivations for the attack as well. During the operation, the authorities also managed to recover seven rounds of ammunition.
SSP Lindsay, who heads the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, states that investigators are pursuing various lines of inquiry, which include looking into allegations of the attack being politically driven. She further adds that as the efforts to remove criminals from the area persist, resources have been allocated to provide assistance to the victims. Watch the report for more details:
