In what can be described as a roundup presentation of the Agricultural Ministry, Minister Pearnel Charles Jnr, summed up some of the work being undertaken and the accomplishments the Ministry can now enjoy. In the latter part of his presentation, he announced the reduction of fertilizers for farmers, a move to reduce the high-cost farmers are battling with, thus hampering production.
Fertilizer supplied by one the country’s largest suppliers of fertilizer, Newport Fersan, will see a 22 per cent reduction which is to take effect on Wednesday, May 3

Charles Junior says not only will farmers see a reduction in fertilizer prices but they will get assistance in technical support among other areas. The minister adds the agriculture ministry boasts some historic moments and necessary strategies are being implemented to ensure the success of the sector.
He specifically appealed to youth who are interested in farming to make the most of the existing opportunities, while lauding the 4-H Club for exposing and nurturing them to become the next generation of producers.
