Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two men on Gordon Lane, off Maxfield Avenue, Thursday evening. The victims are reportedly not from the area. Meantime, in a separate incident another man was also shot and killed within close proximity on Glen Road. The police are yet to identify the bodies of the men who were murdered on Gordon Lane. When our news team visited the area on Friday, the blood stains were still present at the scene and a tense calm prevailed.
CVM Live was reliably informed that the deceased men are not from the area. Police reports are that, about 6:50 p.m., a team was on mobile patrol when they heard explosions. On their arrival, they saw two bodies lying along the road way with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Earlier, at about 12:30pm, forty-year-old Nigel McKenzie otherwise called ‘Bashie’, of glen road, was shot and killed. Nigel was reportedly chased by two men armed with firearms and shot several times. Both incidents are said to be unrelated. Councillor for the Trench Town Division, Neville Wright is condemning the crimes. Though commending the police for recent seizures of illegal weapons across the island Mr. Wright says there is still a need for a change in strategy.
