Work is set to commence next month for drain cleaning in one St. James community. The project is accumulated to be 30 million Jamaican dollars. For years the community has been facing floods due to improper drainage systems.
An inspection of the drains in the Railway Gardens community of St. James was done on Monday by Deputy Mayor Richard Vernon and Member of Parliament, Heroy Clarke. Vernon told our news team that the drains in the community have been in a deplorable state for a long time.
In the meantime, Member of Parliament Heroy Clarke says talks are currently underway with the Municipal Corporation to ensure there is proper equipment available for work to be done. More details in the report:
