4 Injured, 1 Dead in Church Shooting

The St. Andrew South police launched an investigation into a shooting incident in a churchyard in Union Gardens, Kingston, which left one person dead and four injured. As words of worship echoed during Friday’s church ceremony in Union Gardens, bullets disrupted the praise when gunmen attacked a group of men sitting outside the churchyard.

CVM LIVE understands that five people were shot, one of which was an innocent civilian, participating in the church sermon. Senior Superintendent of Police in the St. Andrew South Division Kirk Ricketts, says one of those who were shot later died after succumbing to his injuries. He was a person of interest to the police, in relation to gang activities in the Union Gardens Area.
