A 47-year-old woman was brutally killed in an execution-style manner, right in front of her children and grandchildren on Wednesday evening, in community of Greenwich Farm, Kingston. The community is enveloped in a deep sense of sadness and despair as they mourn this shocking loss.
During CVM LIVE’s visit to the area, it became evident that a number of residents had already made the difficult choice to leave, as grief and fear gripped their hearts. The grim reality of the situation has prompted some to abandon the harsh environment. The political representatives, who are familiar with the deceased and the prevalence of crime in the region, expressed their strong condemnation for the brutal and audacious murder. They both acknowledged that despite increased police presence and the implementation of a Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO), there are limitations to what law enforcement can achieve at this moment.
Meanwhile Acting Divisional Commander Superintendent Manderson says they conducted several targeted operations since and have one person in custody in relation to the crime. Watch the report:
