With only a few days left before the New Year, Jamaica has recorded nearly 500 road deaths for 2022. Over the Christmas holiday weekend, nine people lost their lives to road crashes. Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, (NRSC)l, Dr. Lucien Jones says the implementation of the new Road Traffic Act in 2023 could reduce the surge in road deaths.
Dr. Lucien Jones anticipates the rollout of the new Road Traffic Act in 2023. While extending condolences to the families of those who would have lost loved ones during the festive season, he notes the Road Traffic Act will prevent further road accidents.
