The Lauriston & Thompson Pen 4H Club encourages personal and communal development, which benefits the country. At the Club’s 25th anniversary celebrations, former members and partners lauded the club for its role in transforming the lives of youths in the area. The members are granted training, and opportunities for entrepreneurship, with programs that educate and mobilize young people in agriculture, home economics, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Relations and marketing manager of the Jamaica 4h Club Coral McCormack, says the club is expanding its services, and she encourages youths to become members. Chief Technical Director at the Ministry of Agriculture, Orville Palmer applauds the 4H Club for its partnership with the Agro Investment Corporation; he is also appealing to youths to become members of the club, to boost agriculture production across the island. Leader and founder Shian Christie say the Club is in need of funding, to continue providing its service to the community.
