The St. James police have seized 88 million dollars worth of cocaine, and millions more in cash in Coral Gardens on Tuesday. Two persons have been arrested following the drug bust. The intelligence-driven operation led the security forces to intercept a Toyota motor car which resulted in the seizure of eleven kilograms of cocaine, valued at eighty-eight million dollars, as well as a lump sum of cash in US and Canadian currencies.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifford Chambers says the cash amounted to millions; however, he is advising it will take some time to be counted. He says investigations will intensify as they seek to discover the source of the cash found, as well as anyone who may have been involved.
This may undoubtedly be one of the largest drug busts in recent times. The police continue to remind people to report illegal activities as they aim to rid the nation of guns, gangs, and gunmen. Watch the report for more details:
