97% of Police Officers Association Sign Government’s Wage Deal

Ninety-seven per cent of 181 police officers on Thursday voted to accept the government’s offer mere days before the wage deal expires. The acceptance comes after months of resisting the wage deal leaving many stakeholders concerned.

The Chairman further notes retroactive payments are expected for police officers as well as increased salaries received by other groups. The Police Officers’ Association is expected to sign very soon. Also, the Police Federation which represents rank-and-file members of the constabulary signed the government’s compensation wage offer on Tuesday evening.

The deadline for public sector workers to take up the retroactive wage offer is March 31. Watch the report:
