Abducted Woman’s Family and Friends Speak Out

Three women in separate areas of St. Andrew, who were all abducted on Monday, November 1, have since been released, alive. A nurse, Renieze Fletcher was released in the Duhaney Park area while another woman, a teacher; Janice Howell was released in the vicinity of the Kingston Public Hospital with another female. Janice’s loved ones spoke to CVM Live and shared details of the dreadful experience.

Janice Howell was leaving the Value Community Health Centre in Bull Bay, St. Andrew. On November 1, to catch a taxi. She was on the phone with her friend when she got into a white Probox, the ‘red plate’ indicating it is a public passenger vehicle that is when she was snatched away. On the other end of the phone, her friend could hear the commotion.

Hearing that encounter left her friend shaken. In the hours between her abduction and her return the following Tuesday her family, as told by her relative, was worried yet prayerful.

Her relative shared that Janice was shaken up after the incident.  Janice has been reliving Monday’s events, wondering if there is anything she could have done differently. She shared this in a post on Instagram unable to put into words how she has been feeling but is, in a word, thankful.

Janice was among three other women abducted on Monday and released on Tuesday. Another woman who has not been identified was released with her. The other woman was identified as Renieze Fletcher a nurse who was abducted, reportedly leaving the UWI Hospital.

Members of the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch, (CTOC) are working with the police to investigate the incident.
