Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw is congratulating farmers on their performance and resilience through the COVID -19 pandemic. He is however condemning acts of praedial larceny and urges farmers to stay vigilant.
Approximately 12 farmers have been murdered in 2021 with praedial larceny believed to be the key motive. The incidents have left residents and farmers shaken and fearful. Minister with responsibility for Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw denounced the practice and encourages farmers to report incidents of theft.
In his annual Christmas message, Shaw praised farmers for their contribution to food sustainability throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He encourages members of the public to support local farmers and vendors this Christmas.
