Empowering women, in reality. An all-women lineup of entrepreneurs was chosen by the Canadian High Commission to progress their business, under the Canada fund for local initiatives project. Member of Parliament for Manchester North Eastern Audley Shaw commends the female entrepreneurs for representing the parish and the nation.
He expresses the view that gender balance in management and the workforce is integral to economic growth. Despite women holding majority management and senior positions in Jamaica’s workforce, Shaw says many issues still exist surrounding gender equality in a world where male culture still dominates.
As he commits to creating a world where women are empowered to start their own businesses and take the reigns in driving economic growth for the nation. Minister Shaw eagerly awaits facilitating more ambitious and dedicated women into the world of entrepreneurship.
