Alleged Knife Robber Shot and Killed by Security Guard

A man who attempted to rob a Scotia Bank branch in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay was shot and killed by a security guard on December 29, 2021. The man reportedly approached a teller brandishing a knife. It’s also believed he has been the main suspect in a number of knife robberies in the town.

What appeared to be a normal day for Scotia Bank customers , turned out to be a deadly transaction.

In a video circulating on social media several people were seen gathering at the teller’s window. CVM Live understands that a man with a knife jumped over the counter and approached a teller in an attempt to rob the bank, but that plan was foiled as an armed security guard intervened.

A single gunshot was heard and it was reported that the alleged robber was shot by the security guard. The injured man was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has since been identified as Dwight Anglin otherwise known as Tommy of Norwood, St. James.
