The second demonstration saw residents calling for a thorough investigation. A team of police who were present tried to calm the angry protestors who were adamant that the life of their loved one was unjustly taken. The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, in a statement on Tuesday, says their team including Commissioner Hugh Faulkner revisited the area where the incident occurred and spoke with relatives of the deceased.
They assured the residents that a thorough, impartial, and independent investigation is being conducted. The eight members of the JDF team who were on foot patrol at the time of the incident will be interviewed this week. A detailed initial account of the incident was provided by only one member of the team but no account has been provided by the soldier directly involved in the shooting. The weapons of the concerned officers were processed and sealed for submission to the ballistics lab for testing. More here:
